Battle Borne BBQ is currently searching for an experienced line cook to add to the overall depth of our team.  We need a team player who has the desire to learn about our in-house smoked, made-from-scratch recipes and wants to serve up the best BBQ in Colorado. Line Cooks ensure our guests receive a great experience that will bring them back for more.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares a variety of meat for service by cutting, measuring and using portion control.
  • Sets up, stocks and organizes workstations while cutting and preparing food items.
  • Uses knives, measuring ladles, scoops, scales, can opener, or other kitchen equipment, tools or utensils.
  • Maintains proper food storage temperatures and rotation using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
  • Ensures smoked meats are properly stored, processed, and plated during shifts.
  • Ensures cleanliness of work area and equipment throughout shift.
  • Follows health department standards for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen area.
  • Follows safety procedures and standards when operating all equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, work with team members, while exercising good judgment.
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications

Qualifications

  • Performs duties that require bending, lifting at least 50 pounds, reaching and turning.
  • Knowledge of raw meat handling guidelines with ability to build and maintain fires.
  • Ability to follow direction, accept constructive criticism, follow recipes, and operate independently.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing kitchen needs daily while utilizing organizational skills.
  • Manual dexterity to ensure proper operation of kitchen utensils and cutting tools
  • Effective communication skills
  • Self-starter / problem solver highly desired
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with fellow team members
