We are seeking the right candidate who is passionate about barbecue, looking to create the best smoked meats in Colorado. You must have the ability to complete key tasks (like getting food on and off the smokers) while also helping prepare the restaurant for the upcoming day.
Responsibilities
- Accurately, efficiently, and independently cook a variety of meats in a smoker as well as preparing and assembling other hot and cold food products
- They are responsible for the production and quality of our products, making sure the equipment is working properly, and that health code standards are consistently met
- Cleans, cuts, prepares and smokes meats and poultry.
- Knows how to correctly measure food weights and portion sizes.
- Carries pans, containers, and trays of food to and from work stations, smokers and refrigerators.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, smokers, and refrigeration equipment
- Prepares items for smoking by portioning, seasoning and/or brining.
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- Knowledgeable in the use of cleaning products and how to use them safely according to instructions.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
- Must be able to follow printed recipes
- Cleanliness, both in your own appearance and in your ability to maintain a clean environment around you.
- Treat all team members and guests with respect, dignity, integrity, and sensitivity.
- Background as a prep cook or related experience
- Availability for overnight shifts (10:00 pm - 6:00 am)
- Manual dexterity to ensure proper operation of kitchen utensils and cutting tools
- Effective communication skills
- Self-starter / problem solver highly desired
- Able to stand through duration of shift
